蒙特 Montecristo

The name ‘Montecristo’ (literally “The Count of Monte Cristo”) originates from Alexandre Dumas’ 1844 novel of the same name. As this was a favorite among cigarette rollers at the time, founder Alonso Menendez decided to combine the last two words of the novel’s title, Monte and Cristo, to form the brand name. The Montecristo logo features six golden swords arranged in a triangle around a fleur-de-lis, paying homage to the swords mentioned in the novel. Montecristo cigars remain Cuba’s largest cigar export to date and are considered a benchmark for the quality of other Cuban cigars.
