“Libertador” is the cigar band’s portrait, the nickname of President Simon Bolivar. The Polyva Libertador was first released in 2006 as a limited edition for the French region, and was reissued in 2013 as an LCDH version. While the appearance remains largely unchanged, it uses a completely new cigar blend, resulting in a different flavor profile. Initially, the smoke is smooth, with a rich earthy flavor and subtle notes of wood, leather, and white pepper. In the mid-palate, the woody, leather, and white pepper notes gradually intensify, along with the addition of cocoa. The finish retains the earthy character, followed by notes of leather, cedar, and roasted nuts. It has a medium smoke volume, burns easily, and maintains Polyva’s characteristic richness, but as a new cigar, it still needs time to mature.
